Agent notifications send an internal email when an automated job reaches its alert step. Use them for moments your team should act on, such as a paid order or a new file found by a folder-watching Agent.

Choose where team alerts go

Ready-made team-alert Agents use the workspace's internal notification list unless the Agent has been built with an explicit recipient.

Before activating one:

  1. Open Settings → Order Confirmation.
  2. Find Internal notification email.
  3. Enter one or more team addresses, pressing Enter or comma after each address.
  4. Save the change.

An explicit recipient stored in a custom Agent takes priority over this workspace list.

Important: If an Agent notification has no explicit recipient and the Internal notification email list is empty, the step completes without sending an email. Add at least one address before relying on the alert.

Start with the ready-made order alert

The quickest route is New order → team alert:

  1. Open Agents → Available.
  2. Select New order → team alert, then Set up.
  3. Give the Agent a useful name and select Create agent.
  4. Open Installed and select Activate.

When ProfitJam records a paid order, the Agent sends its saved subject and message to the internal notification list. This template deliberately keeps the email brief and directs the team back to ProfitJam for the order details.

Creating the Agent only saves a draft. It cannot run until you select Activate.

Ask Tempo for a custom notification

Select Create in Agents when you need a different supported trigger, recipient, subject, or message. Describe the result in plain language and include the details that should not be guessed.

For example: “When a paid order arrives, email owner@example.com with the subject New order to review and tell me to open the order in ProfitJam.”

Tempo checks the current Agent building blocks and creates a draft when the request can be supported. A custom notification step can hold one or more recipient addresses, a subject, and a message. Review Tempo's response, then open Installed and select Activate when you are ready.

The current Agents screen does not include a step editor. If the saved recipient or wording needs to change, describe the corrected Agent to Tempo and create a new draft.

Keep notification content useful

The notification step sends the subject and message saved in the Agent. It does not automatically insert the live trigger details or the result of an earlier Agent step.

Write the email so it is still useful within that boundary:

  • name the event in the subject;
  • say what the recipient should do next;
  • point the reader to ProfitJam when the full record belongs there; and
  • use a monitored team address rather than a personal address that may later change.

Check the first run

Open Agents → Installed. The Last run column shows the latest state. Select the Agent or its history button to open Run history, then select a run to see each step's status, duration, attempt count, and any error.

If a step has stopped at Dead letter, select Retry after fixing the cause. Use Pause while correcting an Agent you do not want to run again.

Run history confirms how the Agent step finished; it is not an email delivery receipt and does not show the notification's sent count or recipients. Confirm that the first real alert reaches the intended inbox before depending on it for time-sensitive work.

Common questions

Can a notification go to several people?

Yes. Add several addresses under Internal notification email, or ask Tempo to build the custom notification with all intended recipients.

Can I change the message in the New order → team alert setup?

That ready-made setup does not ask for new wording. Use Create and describe a custom Agent when you need a different subject or message.

Why does Run history say completed when no email arrived?

First check Settings → Order Confirmation → Internal notification email. A notification with no explicit or fallback recipient completes without sending. If the address is present, check the recipient's spam filtering and confirm the address is still valid.

Does this send SMS or push notifications?

The current Agent notification step sends internal email. Keep other communication channels as separate tasks rather than assuming this step covers them.
