ProfitJam checkout turns a published product page or cart into a complete one-time purchase flow. Sell physical products, digital products, or services; let buyers pay without creating an account; and manage the resulting customer, order, payment, and shipping work from the same workspace.

Stripe processes paid orders on your connected Stripe account. Buyers enter payment details in Stripe's Payment Element, which presents the eligible payment options available for that checkout.

Prepare checkout for launch

Before sending buyers to the page:

  • Connect and complete your Stripe setup in Integrations.
  • Make sure every product is active and has the correct one-time price, currency, variants, and inventory.
  • For a physical product, confirm that Requires shipping is set correctly and configure shipping rates that apply to every shippable product and order-value range you plan to accept.
  • Decide how you will deliver a digital purchase or arrange a service after payment. The built-in fulfillment controls are for orders that ship.
  • Open Settings > Order Confirmation to review the receipt email and the thank-you page used by multi-item checkout.
  • Publish the product or cart page and check its product choices, totals, checkout button, contact details, and mobile layout as a buyer would see them.

Warning: A shipping-required order can currently continue with no shipping charge when none of your active rates matches it. Configure an applicable rate for every shippable product and order-value range you intend to accept before launch.

Warning: ProfitJam checkout does not calculate United States sales tax. If you may need to collect state or local sales tax, establish the correct process before selling; the U.S. Small Business Administration explains nexus and online-sales tax considerations.

What the buyer sees

Checkout is a guest flow. The buyer does not need a ProfitJam login.

The buyer enters a name and email address, with a phone number optional. An order that ships also asks for a delivery address and lets the buyer use it as the billing address or enter a different one. A digital or service order skips the delivery address and asks for billing details only.

The payment section is supplied by Stripe. ProfitJam sends the server-checked order total to your connected Stripe account, then Stripe confirms the payment from its own fields.

When payment succeeds, the buyer reaches a thank-you page with the order details and receives the branded receipt email. ProfitJam records the order as paid and keeps its item, discount, shipping, address, and payment details together.

What ProfitJam creates

As soon as the buyer submits checkout, ProfitJam creates a pending order and creates or updates a customer contact using the buyer's email address. This gives you a customer and order record even if the payment does not finish.

Open Orders to see payment status, the items and total, the linked customer, delivery and billing addresses, and any payment failure details. After a successful payment, the order becomes the working record for fulfillment, refunds, and disputes.

Ship physical orders

Physical orders that require shipping appear with fulfillment controls in Orders. Open the order to:

  • Put fulfillment on hold or resume it.
  • Fulfill all items or only part of the order.
  • Add an optional tracking number and tracking link.
  • Review previous shipments or undo a shipment recorded by mistake.

Digital and service orders do not show these shipping controls. Use the paid order and customer details to carry out the delivery, access, booking, or follow-up process you established before launch.

Recover an unfinished checkout

Checkout recovery runs only when you have published a sequence triggered by Checkout started. Submitting checkout supplies the known customer and pending order that can enter that sequence.

Use a wait before the recovery message so the buyer has time to finish normally. A held recovery that is configured to stop on purchase is canceled when that customer completes the order, preventing the pending reminder from continuing after payment.

Handle a failed payment

If Stripe cannot confirm the payment, checkout shows the returned message and lets the buyer try again. ProfitJam records the failed attempt and its reason on the order. A later successful attempt can move that same order to paid.

If a buyer contacts you, open Orders and check the payment status and failure reason before asking them to retry. Do not fulfill an order until its payment shows as paid.

Refund an order

Open a paid order and select the refund action. You can refund all of the remaining balance or enter a smaller amount for a partial refund, with a reason for your records.

ProfitJam sends the request through Stripe, updates the order's refund history, and emails the buyer about the refund. Further refunds cannot exceed the balance that remains.

Respond to a dispute

When Stripe reports a payment dispute, ProfitJam records it on the matching order and notifies the store's order recipients. Open the order to review the deadline and available order evidence.

You can add a note and submit the assembled evidence to Stripe, or accept the dispute. ProfitJam keeps the submitted state and final outcome with the order so the payment history stays in one place.

Common questions

Does a buyer need an account?

No. Checkout is available to guests. ProfitJam creates or updates the customer contact inside your workspace from the details submitted with the order.

Which payment methods appear?

Stripe's Payment Element presents the methods eligible for your connected account and that buyer's checkout. Review the live flow to confirm the options your customers see.

How do I fulfil a digital product or service?

Use the paid order and customer details to provide the download or access information, arrange the booking, or begin the service follow-up you promised in the product description. The built-in fulfilment controls are for physical shipments.

Why was shipping shown as free?

Check whether an active shipping rate applies to the product and order value. If no rate matches, current checkout can continue with no shipping charge; add or correct the applicable rate before accepting more orders.

Where do I find the first order?

Open Orders. The order links to its customer contact and shows its payment state, items, total, addresses, and any shipping, refund, or dispute activity.
